DECORATION TECHNIQUES

Decoration Techniques

When it comes to decorating your branded apparel, there are tons of decoration techniques available! Here are some of our available techniques.

Screen Printing

Screen printing is a printing technique where a mesh is used to transfer ink onto a substrate, except in areas made impermeable to the ink by a blocking stencil.

Embroidery

Embroidery is the craft of decorating fabric or other materials using a needle to apply thread or yarn. Embroidery also allows the use of numerous colours at once, and results in a very premium look and feel.

Sublimation

Printing that transfers a design onto a 100% polyester fabric using ink and heat. The advantage to this is that there is no limit to images, colours and tone, And the design will remain vibrant for the life of the garment. Production time approx. 4 weeks from artwork approval

Supacolour Transfer

The Supacolour transfer uses a hybrid of water-based and digital inks to create a heat press transfer print that has amazing colour brightness and vibrancy, tonal gradients and the ability to render photo-real images.

Heat Transfer

With heat transfer, also known as digital transfer, your custom logo or design is printed onto transfer paper and then ink is thermally transferred from the paper to your fabric using heat and pressure.

Applique

Appliqué is ornamental needlework in which pieces or patches of fabric in different shapes and patterns are sewn or stuck onto a larger piece to form a picture or pattern.

Custom Patches

An embroidered patch, also known as a cloth badge, is a piece of embroidery that is created by using a fabric backing and thread.

Puff or 3D Embroidery

The textile to be decorated is stretched in the embroidery machine. A foam layer (a type of foam rubber) is then applied to create the raised effect of the logo. The machine then embroiders the logo over this, resulting in embroidery that feels raised and firm. Other products, such as hoodies, sports bags and backpacks can also be decorated with this technique. The only condition is that the fabric on which the embroidery will be placed is thick and heavy enough.

Laser engraving

Textiles such as fleece, denim, and leather are exceptionally popular materials for laser customization, in both the cutting and direct-to-garment realm. Because of their incredible precision, lasers can cut even the most intricate of patterns into a variety of materials. And although they may seem delicate, many different fabrics can actually be directly engraved without diminishing the durability of the material.

Tone on Tone

Tone-on-tone is the process of putting your text, more commonly in the form of a simple logo, in a tone of color just slightly darker or lighter than the color of the material it is being put on. This creates a very subtle design that you will find looks very clean and very professional.
